Buying and selling a home.

Image
Covid has revealed a lot about you and what is important to you. You went from loving your beautiful 1600sqft. home with 3 beds 1.5 bath with your spouse and couple kiddos. To all a sudden realizing; HOLY SHIT THIS PLACE IS SMALL . Am I right, or am I right?  I can not tell you how many clients have reached out to me during the pandemic with the need of upgrading their home. Being squished inside 24/7 with your family makes you really appreciate personal space... With the need for an in home office to top it all off... can equal disaster.  So. The question then becomes. How the heck do you buy and sell a home at the same time, in this crazy market? Thankfully you have me to help guide you through that process 🍍 The very first step, and yes you've heard me say this before, is to talk with a TRUSTED mortgage lender! Yes, this is extremely important... why? Because we need to know first and most importantly are you able to finance two properties at the same time. Remember, if y...

True Winter Wonderland.

Words can not really describe Saturday, February 20, 2021. So I will tell my story through pictures. Ricketts Glen, Ice Hike. Just... wow.  Rise and shine. My adventure was to begin at 9am. in Benton, PA. 101 miles between me and the unknown. The last time I had hiked here I was 315lbs. and it was pure HELL. 5 Miles of extremely rocky terrain, steep inclines and rocky unbalanced decent. I was sore for days after and had no desire to hike it again. Until Saturday. I am so happy I decided to take this journey again. It way not NEARLY as difficult as I remember.. (thank goodness).  Absolutely exhausted, yet beyond excited/shitting my pants with anxiety I woke up at 5 and got ready to head out on my 2 1/2 trip up to Benton. Shout out to Sheetz on 61 N for the awesome service 👆 Nothing like mac n cheese bites at 6:30am to get the blood flowing.  The trip up to Benton was gorgeous, the mountains were all covered with snow, icicles hanging over the rocky ridges of the mo...

Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler

Let the good times roll. That's right guys its Mardi Gras!!!!! 🎉 So basically.. Mardi Gras is a time to pig out, feast and enjoy yourself before lent. According to history.com Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville, a French explorer for the holiday. He anchored at a port close to NOLA and had a celebration to honor getting to land and Fat Tuesday.  I was lucky enough to attend Mardi Gras many moons ago. My ex-husband has family down there and we took a road trip to visit them. It was an amazing trip and I am so thankful I was able to experience it!  A few fun facts about Mardi Gras: It is always the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.  The official colors are purple, gold and green.   King Cake is eaten! The first parade was in 1837 Masks(not COVID masks, but decorative) are required by law to be worn by float riders. Unfortunately, this year the parades are being cancelled BUT the tradition will still live on with other COVID safe events that will be taking place through out the c...

Decluttering SUCKS

Image
Getting your home ready for sale can be a pain in the you know what. One of the first steps in getting your home ready to sell is to declutter.  Decluttering: Dun, dun DUN. We all have a bunch of shit laying around that we no longer use or need. Am I right, or am I right? Now, I get this can be super overwhelming. Especially for someone who has lived in their home for 20+ years.  So, let me break it down for you and make it as stress free as possible. Disclaimer... you are going to have to release your emotional attachment to many items...      ~ Break your work down into rooms.      ~ Set aside an hour a day for each room.      ~ Be willing to LET IT GO  The number one mistake I see people doing is they want to declutter and start working on the entire home instead of breaking it down, room by room. This is the best way to become completely overwhelmed and give up on the entire project.  First, choose the room you are goi...

Mirkwood Home Inspection

Image
Good morning everyone and Happy Monday! This morning I am speaking with Zach DeAugustine with Mirkwood Home Inspection and we dive into what a home inspection is and why it is so important to get one when purchasing a home.  Zach has been in the industry for quite a while, and for the past few years has been doing home inspections. Located in Southern PA, Mirkwood not only serves PA (Lancaster, Berks, Chester, York and Delaware counties) but also MD(Kent, Cecil, Harford and Baltimore Counties)! Zach is currently working on being licensed in Delaware as well.  One of the reasons I love using Mirkwood is he really takes the time to go through things with the client. He makes sure the client is comfortable with the information being given to them and is extremely knowledgeable.  From the owner, Zach.  I came from an interior remodeling/handyman background (dealt with electrical, plumbing, flooring, and  other items too!) before I became an Inspector. I became ...

2021 Housing Market, What to Expect.

Image
As we all know, the world we knew previously drastically changed in March of 2020. Covid hit and completely turned the planet upside down. The housing market came to a brief halt as we waited to become essential, and could continue to work. Although there was a minor set back, 2020 ended up being a record breaking year in residential real estate. Housing prices have remained at their highest throughout the year and continue to hold strong.  Even though hundreds of thousands were laid off, that did not slow down the housing market. Extremely low and attractive interest rates are incentive enough. With a change in needs a lot of families are realizing they need either a larger home or a space with an office.  The number of homes for sale has plummeted from previous years. In Berks county alone there are only 425 homes on the market as of today. Needless to say supply is LOW. With historically low interest rates, it is also a very appealing time for buyers, BUT with a l...

What a crazy week!

Image
This week has been INSANE and an absolute roller coaster of emotions 😅 I went from being completely DEAD to having an overwhelming abundance of leads to catch up with. But, that is the business and why I love doing what I do!  Since, I have been MIA for a little I figured I would give y'all a week update of what has been going on with the pinapple realtor.  So last Sunday I decided to hike at Hawk Mountain . If you have never been before it is definitely a MUST SEE hiking spot!  Now I will say, this was extremely challenging.... but the views are beyond worth the exhaustion. This was an interesting hike... so I have been joining some hiking groups recently and for this particular hike I went with a few people from the one group I am in. This hike was extremely challenging due to the inclines and boulder hopping so you definitely want to make sure you are prepared.  It is about a 5 mile loop if you do the entire thing. There is also a $10 fee to enter the ...
