Small Biz Saturday Featuring: ShePaintsCo.

Let me tell you my girl Corina has been KILLING it these past few months.

So a little background story. Corina and I had met a few years ago at my previous brokerage. I was a realtor and she worked the front desk. Instantly, I knew we were going to be friends. Overtime though, you could tell she was not happy at work. It was not her passion, her drive, did not make her want to wake up in the morning.

So, when I saw she had started up her own business I was not shocked at all πŸ˜‰ Let me tell you she is on πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯! So, what is Corina doing with herself now a days...

She is making and designing these beautiful HAND POURED CANDLES!! Do not worry, I have plenty of pictures and info because they are absolutely gorgeous!
To top it off, this is not just a hobby that she is dabbling in, she is absolutely killing it with sales!

Corina creates Small Batch, Custom Designed, Eco Friendly Soy Candles, hand poured in Wyomissing, PA. Soy Wax is a renewable resource that is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. Soy Candles burn longer and cleaner than traditional Paraffin wax candles. ShePaintsCo's soy wax is ethically sourced from Kentucky, made of 100% botanical materials, supporting the American Farmer. She uses high quality fragrance oils that are vegan, animal-cruelty free & locally sourced from Middleburg, PA. She enjoys finding up-cycled crystal & glass containers to pour customs into and also use new, locally sourced candle containers & glass mason jars. The sky is never the limit!

From the owner, Corina.

πŸ’•Why did you get into business? I fell into candle making just out of curiosity in April because of my love for candles in general. In the beginning of the lockdown as I was working from home, I was quickly running out of candles to burn and had a lot of anxiety about going out for supplies as well as my favorite stores were closed. I took to supporting small businesses that I found on Twitter and ordered from someone. As I waited, over a month, for these candles to arrive from this seller along with being stuck in the house without my paints left at the goggle works, which I didn’t get back until June, I decided to order supplies and start educating myself on candle making and watching reputable videos. I made my first few batches, had quite a few fails and a lot of surprising fun wins. once I started showing my friends, they wanted to buy them and I really couldn’t believe it. I always had my website focusing on painting, but without my favorite paints like I mentioned, I took off creatively in a whole new direction and ShePaintsCo was born. πŸ’•What is your favorite thing about your business?
My favorite thing about my business is my customers. They reach out to me with special jars and custom ideas they think are too far out there or may be too insane for me to do and I love being pushed creatively to make their ideas come to life. Their reaction is always priceless and worth it. πŸ’•What do you hope to accomplish this year with your business?
I hope to accomplish this year pouring into doughballs made by a local veteran named Terry and why missing and to keep expanding my offerings. I have a bunch of vintage mason jars I’m excited about and I would really like to get into the gel wax candles as well. My biggest goal is to do a show somewhere when restrictions are lifted. It’s a little hard to sell candles while wearing a mask, but I do have my candles at their first boutique at Bldg7 in Wyomissing and that is something I never thought would happen!
