Let it SNOW

What a snowstorm that was! How much did you get?! And where are you located at??

Here in Mohnton (Berks county, PA) I had about 8-9". So of course my ass decided to take my jeep out and see how it handled in the snow. Like a DREAM, let me tell you that thing is amazing. I am beyond thankful for my clients who trusted in me and allowed me to finally purchase a nice vehicle for me and my daughter. 😄

The first of my new adventures took me back to
French Creek. Yes I know y'all are thinking I am crazy for being out in the freezing cold BUT let me tell you I have figured it out finally!

I am anemic so believe me when I say I get it! But winter hiking is probably one of the most beautiful times to hike! All you have to do is layer yourself. (Keep in mind I am severely anemic and anything below 60 I have a sweatshirt on).  And I was peeling layers off because I was starting to sweat. It works. See below..

Lets start on the bottom... your feet. This is the most important. Two pairs of socks. One thin layer, one wool layer. Finish with waterproof insulated hiking boot. Pants... All I wear is a pair of tight fitting fleece leggings, then a thick sweat pant (that I got from Ross) and I am perfectly warm. Up top, again, layer. Tight fitting, sweatshirt, and heavy jacket. (Which I need to switch out for a medium weight jacket, as this one is to heavy and I start to sweat.) Finish off with a pair of wool gloves and hat. Easy peasy and can get all of this at your local clothing stores (maybe not the boots I had to order mine on amazon).

I left early in the morning and headed over. The roads were fairly plowed but all of the parking lots were closed. I only had about 2 hours to hike this and I knew it was going to be rough. The trail ended up NOT being broken in, and I was the first one to be on the trail 🙌

HOLY SHIT though this was going to be a rough one. The snow was so heavy. Every step I dragged the snow with me. I knew if I stopped though I would be done and I could not stop after going half way. (I soon realized that I am extremely out of shape 😅) How amazing it was though to be the FIRST person out there!! I recommend that everyone does this at some point in your life. You want to talk about absolute Serenity ... wow just wow.

Absolutely one of the best hikes I have taken in quite a while!

NEXT, I did a virtual walk-through for a client up in Lake Wynonah. First off, what a BEAUTIFUL drive it was headed up there! The freshly set snow was perfection! My clients were very happy with the home (went under contract a month ago- but with COVID this was the first time they actually saw the home! They were BEYOND excited to see the home and can not wait to move in the next week or so :)

Finally, me and my girl went for a 3 mile hike at the local watering hole (Nolde Forest). She showed me the loop that she used to take. It was so peaceful walking around, with the snow everywhere and almost no one in sight. If you do not hike, you need to. Like now, stop what you are doing, and go find somewhere to hike. I guarantee your SOUL will feel so much better. 💚
