Small Business Saturday- The Jar Bar Bakery

"Chocolate Cranberry"

The Jar Bar Bakery

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing a trunk-o-treat at The Jar Bar Bakery. I had randomly found the event posted on social media. The event was wonderfully run and everyone had a great time. The store is ADORABLE and the staff beyond delightful. So, for my first EVER #supportsmallbusiness post I decided to feature them!

From the Owner...

I started building the idea of The Jar Bar in January of 2019 while talking with friends and working my way through college. I was 22 with a year left to go before I would graduate and I had tried a bunch of different types of jobs and wasn’t finding anything that fit me. I started selling jars to coworkers and making new flavors almost every week! We have been able to build up our inventory to now include breads, muffins, cookies, gluten free options, cake pop jars and most importantly our regular cake jars! Making new flavors is something that sets us apart and you can be sure to find at least one or two new flavors in store every week!

I have luckily had a ton of support from my friends, family, and boyfriend throughout this whole process. I definitely couldn’t be where I am now without them! My mom and grandmother always cook and like to try new things in the kitchen and I think that’s why I love trying new flavors so much. I have always liked baking but never imagined that I’d get to this point. I had a break from working this year and saved up as much money as I could, found a place close to home, and decided to see if I could make dreams come true! Mohnton didn’t have a bakery that I knew of and The Stabon Plaza is really convenient and was a good option!

Why do people love your brand?
I think people like the products because they are unique and have different flavors!

What do you hope to accomplish in the next year?
In the next year I hope to be offering a wider variety of products and be attending craft shows again!

What is your favorite thing about owning your own business?
I love the flexibility and the ability to try new things and be creative!

Do you have any upcoming events planned?
We are currently involved in the Governor Mifflin Homecoming Mask-erade until November 28th!
